Equipment

  • 6-8 Quart Slow Cooker

Ingredients

  • 1 large chuck roast
  • 1 pkg Good Seasons Italian dressing mix
  • 1 pkg onion soup mix
  • 1 tablespoon all purpose seasoning (I like Lawry's)
  • 1 stick butter, salted
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • ½ cup banana pepper juice
  • ½ cup sliced banana peppers
  • ½ cup Marconi hot giardiniera
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 6 hoagie rolls, toasted
  • 1 lb sliced provolone cheese

Instructions

  • Place chuck roast in crockpot. Sprinkle with Italian dressing, onion soup mix, and all purpose seasoning.
  • Add butter, beef broth, banana pepper juice, sliced banana peppers, and giardiniera.
  • Cook on low 6-8 hours or high 4-5 hours, until beef is fork-tender. Shred.
  • Toss in sliced green bell pepper for the last hour.
  • Load into hoagie rolls when you're ready to serve, pile on the provolone cheese, and broil until bubbly + golden.
  • Add at least two layers of provolone cheese for that extra melty cheese bite.
