Fully Loaded High Protein Spinach, Bacon & Artichoke Dip. It’s creamy, cheesy, and a little spicy. Not to mention, it's totally addictive. Serve it with bagel chips or bell peppers (aka nature’s chips) and watch it disappear.
Cook your bacon in a pan over medium heat. Set aside once crispy.
In the same pan, using the rendered bacon fat, cook all of the spinach until wilted.
Stir in artichokes, garlic, onion powder, cottage cheese, yogurt and chili flakes.
Transfer to a baking dish and top with your shredded cheese.
Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
Top with the chopped crispy bacon from earlier.
Serve with bagel chips or quartered bell peppers for a great low carb option.
Notes
Game day food has a reputation, and not always a great one. It usually leans heavy, cheesy, and somewhere along the way, any kind of balance goes out the window. I am not here to take away the fun food. I am just not willing to give up feeling good for it either. That is exactly where this High Protein Bacon Spinach Artichoke Dip comes in.This is one of those recipes that feels like it should be off limits if you are trying to hit your protein goals, but it is not. It shows up big, just like any good game day dip should. It is creamy, loaded with flavor, and has just enough bacon to make people hover around the dish a little longer than necessary. The difference is, this one actually works for you instead of against you.Game days in our house are loud, busy, and full of people coming in and out of the kitchen. Food sits out, everyone grabs a bite when they can, and somehow the appetizers become the main event. This dip has quickly earned its spot in that lineup. I started making this because I wanted something that could hold its own next to all the usual favorites without feeling like a compromise. There is nothing worse than bringing a “better for you” dish that nobody actually wants to eat. This is not that. This is the one people go back for, the one they ask about, and the one that ends up getting texted about the next day.The bacon brings that smoky, salty bite that pulls everything together. The spinach and artichokes keep it grounded, so it does not feel overly heavy, and the extra protein makes it a little more substantial than your average dip. It actually keeps you full, which is saying something when you are standing around a table of snacks all afternoon. It also fits into real life, which matters just as much as anything else. Some days you are focused on your goals, and other days you are just trying to get something on the table that everyone will eat. Most days are a mix of both. This dip meets you right there in the middle. There is something satisfying about putting out a dish that feels a little more intentional without making a big deal about it. Nobody needs a speech about macros on game day. They just need something that tastes good, feels familiar, and keeps them coming back for another scoop. If you are looking for a way to show up to game day with something that hits all the right notes, this is it. It is the kind of recipe that proves you do not have to choose between enjoying the moment and sticking to your goals. You can do both, and still have people asking if there is more left in the dish.
