Praline French Toast Casserole

This Praline French Toast Casserole is the kind of breakfast that will always steal the show. Golden, buttery, caramelized, and loaded with crunchy pecans. It feels (and smells!) like something special the moment you take it out of the oven.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 loaf challah bread, cut into cubes
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups half & half
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Praline Topping

  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste

Instructions
 

  • Grease a 9x13 baking dish and add cubed challah bread.
  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, half and half, milk, sugars, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Pour evenly over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight, or at least 4 hours.
  • In the morning, mix together melted butter, brown sugar, pecans, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla. 
  • Spread evenly over the casserole.
  • Bake uncovered at 350°F for 40 to 45 minutes, until golden and set.
  • Serve warm and watch everyone go back for seconds.
  • For added decadence, top with whipped cream or maple syrup.

Notes

Perfect for Christmas morning, Easter brunch, baby showers, or hosting friends at home. This one feels a little fancy, but it’s incredibly easy to make.
